One of my biggest passions in life, besides being a wife & mommy, is hosting parties for my friends and family. So when my sister-in-law recently got engaged I jumped at the opportunity to throw her a bridal shower. I knew that when creating this shower I wanted the party to be a representation of how I would personally describe my sister-in-law. With that in mind, my vision for an elegant, feminine, rustic bridal shower was created.
Rustic Bridal Shower
I was limited by how much China I owned, so I decided that I would use two china sets to create two completely different looks.
With the first table, I wanted to create a simple, elegant, contemporary tablescape. I used Pottery Barn silver chargers, vintage Mikasa china, and Onedia silver flatware, paired with Schott Zwiesel wine glasses.
The second table I wanted it to be feminine and pretty. To me, nothing is as feminine as lots of floral and pink. I used Royal Albert Old Country Rose plates, paired with a more formal William’s Sonoma Dorset wine glass, which matched the elegance of the plates. Since the plates were gold rimmed I used my vintage gold flatware, similar found here.
To keep with the rustic theme, I chalk painted mason jars white, which were used as vases on both tables. Whenever I host a party I always use fresh cut flowers for arrangements. Keeping with the feminine pink theme a mix of dark and light pink carnations with baby’s breath was used. The table runners and napkin ties were created by a roll of burlap purchased from my local craft store. I cut the burlap accordingly to fit each table and cut individual pieces for the pink napkins.
I am all about the small details when organizing a party. How cute are these coasters and goodie bags? Each guest received a burlap pouch filled with yummy chocolates, which I placed on the individual plates.
I have an addiction… and that addiction is all things home decor. Especially collecting beautiful tabletop serve-ware. I love how great serve-ware just adds an element of elegance and gives your party a finished look. I recommend investing in beautiful pieces that are timeless and can be used for any occasion.
